    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Be ready to write long essays.

    Course highlights:

Learning the different research methods of communication. An example would be the three different types of surveys. 1.) Political polls- One of the most common and readily available uses of surveys. They provide a detailed account of who is leading whom in the run for a particular office during an election. 2.) Evaluation research- Research that is designed to assess the effectiveness of programs or products during development or after their completion. (ex. summative research, formative research, needs analysis 3.) Market Research- Research that is designed to study consumer behavior.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be do not wait on any of the essays. Start as soon as you receive the assignment.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The material for this class is not very challenging. However, the professor makes the exams very difficult. The course requires one research paper, one midterm, and a final. Prof. Mullin provides a study guide but I encountered material on the exam that was neither in her lecture nor her study guide which makes studying frustrating.

    Course highlights:

Writing the research paper was challenging but rewarding. You are required to work in a group of 3 people to research a specific topic, conduct a survey or experience, and write a research paper of your findings. It was interesting to learn the process of writing a research paper. I found this portion of the class to be the most interesting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Attend class! Go to Prof. Mullin's office hours if you are having difficulty on your paper or have any other questions regarding the course. She is very approachable and helpful and it never hurts to go to office hours.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Learn a lot, more about research than communication

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write a research article; not much about about communication field in general

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to Office hours for the essay
