Pretty easy, overall.
I would recommend this course as it was very fun, informative, and interesting on a subject I had no prior knowledge on. You will learn a lot about animal communication systems and how it is similar to/different from human language with real-life examples. The concepts are fairly easy to grasp and the professor emphasizes the same themes throughout the course, making it cohesive and easy to follow along with.
The highlights of this course was applying tangible examples to the concepts we learned the first week of class and being exposed to the diverse variety of communication signals among animal species. I learned that all animal communication forms are either cues, signals, indices, or handicaps -- the latter three which have evolved specifically for communication.

Advice for students:
Review all the examples given and categorize them accordingly to each type of signal, as the professor refers back to it throughout the entire course and uses it as the primary basis for the midterm and final.
