This class was tough.
I would definitely recommend taking this class if you are interested in chemistry at all. It included interesting experiments and the professor is a really good lecturer and was able to make organic chemistry fun and easy.
This course taught me the basic methods used in laboratories in order to separate, extract, and identify different types of compound. These methods are the very basis of scientific research and everybody interesting in research or science should know how to perform these procedures.

Advice for students:
I would recommend sitting in the front of the class because although Dr. Gainer is a great lecturer, the topics are difficult and sitting in the front row will make it easier to focus and learn. It also provides a more personal lecture atmosphere. I also recommend going over the prelab during the hour before the actual lab so you will not make mistakes or fall behind and be last to finish.
