    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This is known as one of the easier history courses, and it is definitely a good GE to take for non history majors. The class has assigned reading each week, and a couple of papers that need citations from said reading. Furthermore, there is one midterm and a final. The midterm has some multiple choice questions and some identification of terms questions. The final is the same format as the midterm plus an essay. All you have to do is memorize terms on the study guide. For the papers you have to write, go to your ta early and often (they grade the papers). The TAs will literally tell you everything you need to write and you'l get an A.

    Course highlights:

We learned about early American history from Columbus to pre-civil war America. It especially went into depth about the relationships settlers from different countries had with native Americans. Even more about the conflicts they had. Was very interesting and different from high school history classes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Just do all the readings and go to your TAs office hours early and often for help on papers. When the exams roll around, study really hard the night before and you will be fine. The course is an easy A for most people, unless you really slack off.

This history course consisted of a multiple choice midterm and essay/IDs final. The reading material was not intense. It's managable and the professor does a great job interacting with the class.

    Course highlights:

I learned about Colonial America and some corrections to my misconceptions of US history.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It's an easy GE. Many non-history majors do well in it.
