Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

There is a specific interface for financial aid that students can easily use to evaluate their awards. It'd be great if more money was available for aid in general, but that's a longshot. Many people participate but there isn't a sense of pressure to, mostly just personal decision.

    Course highlights:

Very pricey for college student budgets, landlords take advantage of our being young, many old homes that need a lot of repairs and have hazards. Location is prime, a very lively and entertaining town.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Campus lacks good art. Most of the buildings on campus are really short and lack the sort of awe that most people would expect college campuses to inspire. The lagoon is kinda cute when you catch it reflecting the sun at the right angle.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

There have been problems with health and safety like most college environments, and the school/organizations work very hard to prevent incidents and provide resources for support.Great way to experience your beginning year(s) of college at UCSB and create social ties/friendship with people you will know for years to come.

    Course highlights:

UCSB has a reputation for being a party school because thousands of students walk around a few blocks of one street each Friday and Saturday night. The number of parties on a given night actually isn't that high; it's that they're all so close to one another. Pretty much everyone drinks Friday/Saturday night.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This is a school where many people have personal experience with substances and can guide those who choose to experiment with them. You can trust people here because they have personal experience rather than just saying "drugs are bad." If you try a drug here, chances are you can talk to people who have done it so you know what you're getting yourself into.
