Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a fascinating look into the side of history that America does not hear much of: Asian immigration. Taking an informative and an inquisitive outlook on topics, the professor makes lessons interesting and engaging.

    Course highlights:

Seeing as I am still taking this course, there are still many things for me to learn. However, that does not mean I have discovered some amazing bits of information and lessons. Reading the required texts showed me a deep insight to the extreme cruelty dealt to the Asian American community during the early 20th century and World War II. The highlight of my experience so far has been the professor explaining to the class the meaning and formation of the concept of race. It was eye-opening and helped me to realize that race is purely a social construct.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not pour your attention over every word you read in the books, because if you do the homework will take hours. Make sure you pull the most important information from each page and learn to read at a steady, fast pace.
