Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because the professor is very passionate about this point in time our history and shows in the way he teaches. He does not give loads of homework but the little that we are given goes into the depth and we can really learn from that little amount of work. He always emphasizes that "to know what is going today, we must first learn about our past". One of my favorite things he said all semester.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were getting assigned Primary Source Analysis, which only had to be 250 words, which was not much, but was worth doing. One PSA I remember was an ad about runaway slaves in the south during slavery. We had to analyze it and it was astonishing how they would describe how we describe our lost dogs on ads. The owners of the slaves would describe their physical features, and who were they last seen with.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

You must complete all the work and the weekly quizzes and take good notes they help on the exam.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to students who enjoy learning about the American History and the past. It a great introduction to U.S history and you might remember some information from high school history but in this course it goes into depth.

    Course highlights:

From this course, I gained knowledge about slavery. Most every lecture had a great deal of slavery information that I haven't ever learned about. Some highlights in the class was when the professor was discuss the paper topic into depth so we would know what to write about. Plus, we only had to write one final paper throughout the course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to be successful in the class, you probably should attend every lecture class. On Tuesday's we do lectures and take quite of few notes and on Thursday's we take a quiz. Make sure to read the books because the 12 point quiz could make or break your grade.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor was great, very organized during his lectures - provided an outline and stuck to it. He also was very helpful outside of class. Class was very interesting, but I would recommend taking detailed notes, paying attention, and studying hard because the course isn't that easy.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about the civil rights movement, especially the years when segregation took place. We read a book that became my favorite - Warriors Don't Cry by Melba Patillo Beals.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the course if you love history. You will enjoy it.
