Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it a great way for people to learn about Asia. As Americans, we are mostly oblivious to the resemblance and the similarities in our culture.

    Course highlights:

I learned that its not appropriate to classify people in the East as Asian. There are many "Asian" people that are Japanese, Korean, or Muslim. It like when foreigners look at Americans and classify us a Red Necks. There is a broad term for a group of people in a specific region, but we must keep in mind that they are all different and they all have their own history.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Have a study group that you can refer to and study. The largest chunk of the grade was dependent on test scores, so remember to study and put in the effort to complete the assignments the professor gives.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is challenging in many ways. It forces you to consider and be up to date with Asia side of the world. It also challenged your reading skills as there are many historical novels, and auto-biographies to read and be tested on. The challenge is worth it and you will leave a lot more knowledgeable about Asia.

    Course highlights:

I loved the books we read!! The tests were challenging and rewarding process.

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to read and work on your reading comprehension skills in advance. Write clear notes and keep them organized. I joined the SI class and it helped significantly.
