    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you are going to grad school, then it is highly recommended to take this course! The course is also interesting and helps you learn about facts about abnormalities. This class can also help you prepare for real world scenarios. Such as people who are suicidal. The course explains how the individual became suicidal, what can trigger it, the symptoms, treatment, gender ratio, and more. It is an important class to take.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of interesting things, but one thing that stood out to me was not only did we learn about the definitions of abnormalities, but we learned about it in further detail. I learned that not everyone is the same and they could be suffering from an abnormality. This class taught me how to diagnose someone with an abnormality and how to help them. Finally, this class also taught me that mental health is very important and that many people need to take it more serious.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to not procrastinate in this class! Make sure to also pay attention to the details of the abnormalities and not just the definition. If you put your time and effort into this class then you will be fine, just be prepared to work really hard.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Vallejo always presents topics in a funny but interesting way. He is always questioning if we understand the concepts and he tries to help us as much as he can.

    Course highlights:

Every time we were about to take a test he would play a random happy song to distract the students from their stress.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to his lectures and pay attention to your notes. Also, try to read the book once in a while.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend the Abnormal Psychology course because it is not only interesting but eye opening. Many times, as a society, we are taught to view strange behavior as "crazy" or un-normal. However, most people with disorders just need a way to cope with life challenges.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course for me was the overlapping of the disorders. I truly enjoyed finding the unique differences within the disorders.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If taking a abnormal psychology course, I would say study and pay attention. All of the disorders overlap with each other and begin to sound ambiguous. However, finding the little differences in each disorder makes this course unique.
