    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I found this course to be a little difficult. Really reading and understanding the readings are the most important part. Some of the team assignments can be difficult, but working together and discussing what is confusing helped our team out greatly and the course became a little easier to understand.

    Course highlights:

Learning where things go in certain documents was the most important part. Several of the team assignments were putting information into the documents in the appropriate spots. The most difficult one for our team was the US Corporation Income Tax Return. Discussing all of the details helped us to learn about the documents and were all of the information went on the documents.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Considering this course is Corporate Taxation, I feel that it is important to know about the documents that are necessary to fill out and what is important to note on those documents. Reading the chapters will help learn about these documents and all the information that should be included in them.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you want to learn about tax forms this is the class to do it in!

    Course highlights:

The main highlight of this course was the hands on material for the homework assignments. You got to fill out tax forms so it helped make the learning more relevant to real life experiences.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study as much as you can and be very patient. This is a tough course but you can succeed as long as you pay attention to the material and take your time. If you get stuck take a break and then come back to it. You will find by doing that you will understand the material easier each and every time.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you want to know to prepare your own taxes or understand the different deductions allowed, I would say take this class. Just be prepared for lots of technical reading and cross referencing.

Overall, you gain the basic knowledge of how to prepare corporate tax returns, learn about some of the major deductions allowed, and gain hands on experience with preparing Form 1120 (Corporate Tax return).

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared for a lot of reading and cross referencing. There might be some confusion with the team assignments so be sure to ask your instructor ahead of time.
