    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was an excellent course in leadership theories. I learned so much about historical and current leadership theories. This course has a paper due one week and a power point presentation the next on altering weeks so stay on top of it! All assignments were very lengthy and if you are not good at doctoral level writing you will be by the end of the course. I hate to say this course is sink or swim but it is sink or swim so do your best and stay on top of everything.

    Course highlights:

I learned that trait x leadership mirrors micromanagement. I also learned about the theoretical Five Levels of Leadership as well as so many different leadership theories I never knew existed. This course peaked my interest and left me walking away wanting more! Fewer papers would have been nice though, it is paper overload for sure with 3 or 4 papers due in this class, you will definitely be doing some writing.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Get an early start on the week if you can. Do not procrastinate, the papers in this class cannot be written in one night of cramming. I tried to pace myself at writing an average of 200 words per day for the 1,050 word papers due in this course every other week. Remember, you have to post up 6 responses for participation and write a weekly reflection. The instructor posts two discussion questions each week as well. I believe those counted toward participation credit though but stay on top of this class or it will eat your lunch. Do not think the presentations are your "off" week, those are just as hard as the papers. Remember your APA! This class, like all others, focuses on APA. While I believe the APA formatting was worth about 10% of the grade, that is a letter grade so don't skimp out on it.
