    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

In our diverse country, it is important for teachers to understand how to best teach English Language Learners. The Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol is widely known to benefit students learning a new language, and increase the vocabulary and comprehension of native English speakers.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to successfully employ the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol in lesson planning. I observed the effectiveness of being objective oriented during instruction time. Also, I learned how to be culturally sensitive to English Language Learners as they begin the acquisition of a new language.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Do not wait until the last minute to begin your course work. Procrastination will not help you to understand and do well on your assignments, as most of the assignments take hours of research and writing. Each week use the instuctor's feedback to better your assignments.
