This class was tough.
The course work helped me to prepare for the future of healthcare finance that I will be dealing with in future employment and possibly owning a Home Health Hospice Agency. It is my dream to create a business that allows dying individuals to remain in their homes surrounded by family and friends in the last stages of their lives. This class has helped me to learn the financial aspects of healthcare and what to expect when I am ready to venture out on my own.
I learned financial accounting important to the understanding of the financial environment of the health care industry as well as experience with capital budgets, financial forecasts and operational budgets. I also learned interpret financial statements, prepare analyses of financial data necessary to make decisions, describe the different third party payment methods, experiment with cost finding and price setting, and conduct break-even analysis.
