Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is extremely helpful to those in the healthcare and business administration fields.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to create a manual and I also learned the ins and outs of technical writing

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I think for someone going into this class, reading will become your best friend. It sounds cliche but, truly the more you read the more you know and the more involed you will become.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course makes you think and be impartial when writing technical documents. It is a great way to advance your career and skill set. Instead of trying to be creative, technical writing is more about understanding. Technical writing should not be written to entertain readers. The goal of technical writing is to give the reader a better understanding of the subject being written about in clear and concise terms.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to thoroughly write technical document such as instruction manuals, user manuals, patents, specification sheets and the likes. It is not particularly exciting, but this course is a must if you intend on being in the technical field

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Create your discussion posts and replies in MSWord; check for spelling, grammar, content and tone, before you post to the discussion group. Do not underestimate how long the work will take you each week. If you rush through it the day it is due your grade and learning will suffer. An online class takes a lot more work on your own to replace the hours you are not spending in the classroom. Allow plenty of time, start early, get your work in on time. Plan ahead.
