    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course allows for a deeper look into the public policy making process. I feel with the current political environment, we all must have a better understanding of how our government functions and how we impact the polices that are enacted. As citizens it is our obligation to take part in government, and this course gives us the foundation to do so effectively.

    Course highlights:

The highlight was being able to debate issues such as abortion, medicaid, and social security. I learned that what we think we know about these programs aren't necessarily true. Knowing this is going to make me a better human service professional.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advice I can give is to be open minded. This course will challenge your views on a variety of topics and you must be willing to push your comfort zone to get the most out of this course.
