    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because there are a lot of people that is in need of help, they do not know where to go for the help that they are in need of, so there is a high demand for people in the human service field. The human service field has a very wide spectrum, a person can work with children with addiction, adults with addiction, children who is suffering from child abuse, and the human service field can also help women who is being abused.

    Course highlights:

There are many types of addiction and abuse, if you do not have the services that the client needs there are other resources out there to help the person who is in need, so it is very important to network in order to help your client with their basic needs, and to help them get back to being self sufficient.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

The course repeats itself a lot, it starts you off at the basics to understand what the client needs, then the further you get into the program the teachings will go more into detail of what you need to know in order to help your client; just be patient.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course as it provides future human service providers with the skills needed to appropriately assess different client populations.

    Course highlights:

In this course I had the opportunity to learn how to write intake forms, referral forms, and other forms that are essential in the initial interview with a client. There was also a lot of focus on motivational interviewing, overcoming resistance, and encouraging change.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

There is a lot of reading required for this course. Be prepared to dedicate at least 8 hours a week to studying and homework.
