Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great start for those going into the Cost Accounting area of Finance. You learn the basics about cost accounting, finding the break-even point, and how to allocate costs accordingly. The instructor I had was extremely interactive making this class more enjoyable and she offered great feedback towards the discussion posts.

    Course highlights:

This class teaches cost allocation, cost-volume-profit, pricing and budgeting, how to prepare income statements, and the proper way to handle a potential unethical situation.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take detailed notes, complete the practice problems offered in WileyPlus (it is a great way to get hand-on experience with the subject and easy participation points), ask questions, and it is ok to not understand a concept. Voice your concerns because more than likely, you are not the only one feeling that way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I found this course very informative and the teacher interacts with the students very well.

    Course highlights:

We learned about Activity Based Costing and how businesses you this process to set prices and determine what they need.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read all the material, get involved with the other students, and do the homework assignments. Each chapter has questions to test yourself and shows the solutions to the questions. Please use the student lab, that has been very helpful also. A lot of the students do online research and the professor encourages it.
