    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

First off, it's the 1st Nursing course int he progression towards your RN so you MUST take it. 2nd of all, it was a very enjoyable summer getting into the swing of things of how your nursing career will pan out.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were honestly the faculty. They are so extremely helpful, and are there whenever you need them. If you need help with some nursing technique that you learned, there are open laboratory hours nearly every day with a woman named Mary Vogl there to guide you every step of the way. You also have both your clinical instructor and class professor to ask any questions that you may have.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

BE PREPARED. The Fundamentals book is a massive undertaking if looked at all as once, but remember that you do NOT want to rent this book. If you only purchase one textbook throughout your nursing school experience, purchase this one. It will stay with you and act as a reference for you well into your nursing career in case you want to brush up on any assessment skills or other skills (from foley catheter insertion to NG tube insertion). Also, if you need to slow down your work schedule, DO IT! You want to spend as much time on campus studying and practicing your skills in the lab as you can. It will pay off tenfold when it comes time for your simulation tests!
