    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Because when you have a Professor that uses everyday life experiences to cause you to reflect and think about how it applies to you, you have a better chance of passing the course with an understanding and not just getting by. The ability to make herself unavailable to you and focuses on how you learn and apply this technique to help you better understand the difference from muscle and bone or veins from arteries. Makes a difference.

    Course highlights:

The major anatomy and physiology of human makeup. What it takes to make a body function and the pros and cons of homeostasis and it's importance. Quiz taking techniques as well, lab exams which seem to go very quickly. Taking pieces and putting it together as a puzzle to understand what makes a body work. I learned that in order to understand biology you must first understand how every part plays a part in order for all parts to work. But, you must start from the beginning and pay close attention. The highlight were the lab exams where you only have 1 minute to see a part/parts on models and name it and what applies to it.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

You must study, review and review again If you don't understand ask for help don't be embarrassed Especially if you have been out of school for over 20 years your starting fresh so what may seem simply is not. Use the learning centers and support systems that are in place to your advantage and get a good study group going it pays off at the end.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because not only is it required for nursing students but it helps put all the body systems together before you go in to the actual nursing core classes. Gives you an insight and experience to what you will be doing in the nursing or allied medical field.

    Course highlights:

The highlights for me was learning how your body systems works as one although they are separate. I also liked learning the functions and types of tissues. Also the actual labs where you get to do hands on things, for instance we were able to see and feel a heart, not human but the animal was closely related. I also learned all the muscles in the body, as well as the other body parts.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

In this class studying and memorization would be a key factor in successfully passing this course. I would definitely not take this course with a heavy load as it is a lot of things to focus on and required a good amount of attention.
