Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Javiar is such an amazing professor and i would recommend him to anyone, no matter what the course is that he is teaching. He is funny, smart, and forms a great student/teacher relationship. He won Professor of the Year in 2015, is a well known writer and poet, and has been doing plenty of shows incorporated with his work.

    Course highlights:

I love poetry and I love the way poetry makes me feel. He taught me how to look at what the meanings of the words in a poem can mean, versus looking at what the poem might haven meant to the author. Although poets may think or feel a certain way when they write the poem, he tries to have us pick certain parts of poems we read and try to interpret what they mean to us personally. he makes his students feel comfortable and open and I that's the one thing I loved the most about this class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Just to read the poems listed on the syllabus for that class before getting to class. Also take notes of what you talk about each class for your journal.

I found a love for not only writing poetry, but reading it too. And, through the many discussions we had in this class, I gained a different perspective on life.

    Hours per week:

    Advice for students:

TAKE THIS CLASS. I promise you won't regret it.
