Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I believe that this course is a good introduction to the legal field, and gives a strong overview of the opportunities and challenges that face individuals considering this line of endeavor. The professor was excellent; classwork was interactive; and assignments stretched one's skills in the area of argument and reason.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course for me was the opportunity to travel to Washington, DC to see a session of the US Supreme Court. We were able to witness oral arguments in an appeal of US v. Enron. I had an opportunity to learn a little about how the Supreme Court works, and appreciated the opportunity to see democracy in action.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always keep up with the reading...Be careful not to fall behind. Always do assignments on time, and participate in class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I found this course to be very challenging and thought-provoking. This was my first academic endeavor in the legal profession, and the material was extremely interesting and I learned a great deal in the course, and in the program as a whole.

    Course highlights:

I learned new strategies for developing arguments for defending my positions on various issues, and also what is ethical behavior for those entering the legal profession. We learned about the history of the profession, and how it has developed in the US and abroad over the years. In addition, we discussed good management practices for those who choose this profession, and theory behind the development of American legal theory.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In this course, it is extremely important to be organized, and to keep up with the readings. Being open to new ideas and ways of crafting arguments for your positions is a must. Keep good notes, and complete workbook exercises after each class.
