    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

i wouldn't recommend because the teacher just talks and talks about the lesson and its hard to learn from jut hearing him talk and then move to the next thing. hes not very engaging.

    Course highlights:

i just started this course so i prefer not to answer yet.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Dont expect this class to be fun unless you're a fan of jazz and learning about music in general.

    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Such an interesting class. Minimal homework involved, so you can really enjoy and take in the information

    Course highlights:

I learned so much about the history of African-American music and the roots of Jazz

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Dont slack off, the class is intended to be easy because its not a required course. However, theres so much interesting information to learn, it would only benefit you to pay attention. I appreciate jazz music in such a deeper aspect thanks to this class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a very interesting and informative course that allowed me to gain a comprehensive knowledge of Jazz history. The class was paced well and went into depth on not only history of the music, but also the musicians themselves and what each individually contributed to the art.

    Course highlights:

I gained a comprehensive working knowledge of where Jazz came from, how it came to be, and why it was a music that was unique to the United States and found its origins nowhere else in the world. I learned about the various instruments that formed the art as well as a very basic understanding of some music to help further understanding of the course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advice that can be given for this course is to look for ways to immerse yourself in Jazz, whether by listening to it or attending performances. This is a class I personally would take in the fall semester as attendance to a live jazz performance is required.
