    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking this course with Sujartha, because she is a very helpful professor, understanding and respected by students. She will know your name, answer any question and help you with anything. She is very easy going and understand life complications and give chances. She is an easy grader and good in explanation.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about organic compounds, names, physical and chemical properties. I learned and memorized how to set up melting point testings, re crystallization, filtration and more. This course is mostly about how to draw carboxylic compounds and how to represent them in various methods. The important equations that carboxylic compounds go through cover a good part of the class too.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would defiantly advice students to study the material right away. Once you procrastinate you will not have time to caught up because it is a very fast pace course with a lot of new information. Be prepared to learn the language of chemistry. It is ok if you did not do well on the previous chemistry classes because this class goes in a different direction.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor is helpful and the class is needed for many medical majors. You MUST study about two hours every day for this course in order to be successful. It is a very fast paced course and you must stay on top of everything in order to be successful in the class.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of connections and correlations between organic and green environmental chemistry and the impact the chemical industry has had on our planet. Highlights in this course were learning pieces of information that correlate to other classes and everyday life. I learned a great deal of how organic chemistry and biology coexist and we alos touched on biochem aspects twoards the end of the semester.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

You need to get on a schedule or routine for the semester while you are taking this class. I t required a great deal of time and dedication and if any slip ups happens your grade could suffer. Get on a routine and study for about two hours every day. Utilize the science tutor center and buy yourself a model kit to make learning go by faster and smoother.
