Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it teaches you how model organic objects such as trees, leaves, and water in a 3D program. In the animation field it is very essential that you can create these environmental objects but most importantly is making them look believable. This course helps you learn tricks and techniques on how exactly to do that.

    Course highlights:

I gained a lot of knowledge in this course that I didn't know previously. I learned good techniques on how to build trees which is very tedious. You have to tweak a lot of options to make it look right. Also I leaned how to add a bark texture to the tree that really gives a good believable look.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would highly recommend looking at YouTube videos to see alternative ways that people approach the projects. There is always multiple ways to do something but finding the way that works best for you is great. Also take advantage of the tutors. They will show you cool tricks that make the course easier.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone with an interest in computer graphics. It teaches advanced techniques used by industry professionals. For me, personally, this class was one of the best classes I have taken because of my professor. He pushed all of us to reach for success and to go five steps beyond our own capabilities. By the time I was finished with this course I gained a much wider understanding of 3-D art and how to approach any situation.

    Course highlights:

I gained a lot of valuable knowledge. Not only with techniques and skills for how to create your own art, but also what to expect once you graduate. Since this class was considered an advanced class, everyone was expected to reach greatness. I was fortunate enough to have an instructor that did not mind teaching things over and over to make sure no one gets left behind. But most importantly in this course, we learned the standards of today's professionals and how to reach them and even go beyond.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

For this course, we were given a week to figure out what we wanted to create. We were told to choose references that we thought were beyond our league. If our goal did not scare us, our goal was not big enough. Go big or go home. Choose something that scares you and don't give up. This way you will only get better if you really try. Following up with challenging yourself, do not procrastinate. If you begin to get lazy, the work-load will pile up on you and make you lose your confidence. Don't give up and do it because you love it.
