Pretty easy, overall.
It is a good course for those who aren't already successful in the work force, but as someone who has over a decade of corporate experience, this course was a waste of my time and money. The professor (whose name I cannot remember) was overly critical of discussion board entries and minor assignments. This is a core curriculum course, so my recommendation of it is a moot point. However, there should be an alternate means of completion for students who are already experienced communicators.
Were I not already quite experienced in the course material, it would have been a worthwhile course. It includes sections on all types of communication; verbal, nonverbal, and written, as well as information on different personality types and how they communicate.

Advice for students:
Don't assume this course will be a "gimme". There are some difficult concepts and if you get the nitpicky professor, he will make it even more difficult.
