    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Caccavo is a great professor and gets the material across very effectively! His lecture are also very informative

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about heredity and how punnet squares work and how genes/traits pass from generation to generation

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely study after each lecture. Record them and write notes. The rewrite your notes after lecture.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a weed-out course for Biology majors; it is full of difficult specific content which was made more difficult by only essay/short answer tests. I liked the material, however the professor was hard to read.

    Course highlights:

I learned all about cells; whether that included cell division or different structures that made up the cells. I also appreciated lab (it was interesting to actually view the tiny particles that make up a human being.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you have a different professor it might be easier. However, consider that this is not supposed to be an easy content course. The body is complex and miraculous, so it only makes sense that the course would imitate the profound detail that our bodies hold.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's a requirement for bio majors. Steer clear of it if you're just trying to fill your Natural Science requirement, though. It's a killer class and takes up a ton of time. Especially the half of the course that Caccavo teaches.

    Course highlights:

Some of the genetics topics taught by Caccavo were interesting. The first half with Putzke was mainly cell bio and a review of high school. The "new" stuff sort of came in the second half.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, study, study! Take thorough notes for the Caccavo portion, and memorize a ton of definitions for the Putzke portion. It moves very fast, so a high school bio background helps a ton.
