    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It's a requirement to take this as a chem major. However, note that Dr. Keeling no longer teaches at Whitworth. All of the current professors are great replacements however.

    Course highlights:

Lab was one of the most exciting parts of the class. Definitely make something thoughtful for the brass keyring lab because you'll get to keep that and some people keep that all 4 years.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Relax. It's gen chem. Don't worry so much because it's not worth worrying about as much as you do.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was very hard. You will also take away so much from this course. I learned as much from this course in two weeks as my entire year of high school.

    Course highlights:

Ntow is a great professor. He is hard to understand for the first week or two but he is extremely thorough, the office hours also saved my life. The demonstrations are super fun, and the topic is very interesting.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This class will be so much better if you make friends in your class and study with them. The most helpful tip I ever got for this course is go to his office hours early so he will know who you are.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Coming in to this class, I was terrified of chemistry because I struggled in high school to understand the concepts. However, besides reading from the book, Dr. Stevens clearly illustrates the chemistry concepts through real-life examples and visuals that not only give me a deeper understanding of chemistry, but also stimulated my interest in chemistry.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed all the demonstrations and learning about how it connects to the chemistry laws and theories. I especially enjoyed learning all the math related in chemistry and also the geometry of the atoms.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would do practice problems before the test. The practice problems in the book are especially helpful. Also, make sure to do the practice exams because the problems are very similar to what will be on the test.
