Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend taking this class, even if you're not sure on the course. Many fields of study require a psychology class before you can graduate. The class was always interesting and keep your attention. The information that was given to us will be helpful in day to day life and can even help explain why you behave a certain way.

    Course highlights:

In the semester, our professor filled our classes with as much information as he could. There was not a day that we did not do anything in class that was not related to psychology. One day we would have a lecture that lasted an hour and fifteen minutes and then the next day we would watch an episode of Brain Games to show us how our perception works. Our professor taught us about the "Founding Fathers" of psychology: Freud, Adler, Ellis, Pavlov, Piaget, etc. and how their different concepts configure into the basic understanding we have today of the human psyche. This class showed me how not every college course you take will be the same lecture-based, boring class that you will struggle not falling asleep in.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always make sure you read the chapters that are assigned with the lecture; most of the time if you do not read the chapter, you will not understand some of the content discussed in class. When taking notes in class, you do not need to write down every piece of information the professor says/presents, but try to write down some examples discussed in class because they might appear on some tests. Since the professor does not care if you complete the homework or not, always stay organized and get your assignments done to be able to pass the class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

As a high school senior, we were allowed to take certain college level classes. I would highly recommend taking any Psych class because the lectures were always interesting, thanks to a wonderful professor, and new ideas in class were always discussed outside the class because of the meaningful topics.

    Course highlights:

If anyone has any interest in psychology, taking just the intro class can help determine if the course is right for you. Within the semester, our particular class was taught about the different forms of psychology, the "Founding Fathers" of the topic, different mental illnesses, and so many other topics in such a small amount of time.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The class might have a lot of written homework, but it really pays off in experience as a high school senior. We had a writing assessment at the end of each week over the discussed chapter with word counts varying from 500+ words. The assignments weren't worth much if you only missed a few, but they really did count towards the final grade if they weren't completed. This class being a college level curriculum, it was a nice dose of reality when the professor doesn't consistently ask if you completed your homework; you either did the homework or you didn't.
