    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was a very thorough class that dove into detail about molecular biology. This class was difficult since I found it hard to follow the lecture RG provided.

    Course highlights:

I learned all about the lac operon. I also learned about genetics which I thought was very interesting.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook and go to lecture, skip class and you won't do well.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

You learn a lot from this course. Many classes often become a system of memorizing, taking a test, and forgetting it the next day. Dr. RG encourages you to think deeper into the subject and really understanding. Simply memorizing will not be enough for this class, but its good because you actually really a lot!

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of the class was how much we learned. At the end of the class, I felt like I had learned more than I had ever previously learned in a science course. A year later, I still remember so much of what I learned because of the assignments, quizzes, and activities and ways in which we were encouraged to study. You learn a lot about genetics and which is definitely something I have always been interested in and I was very happy with all I learned.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study thoroughly for every quiz. The quiz and test questions really make you think and apply what you have learned, rather than just recalling definitions. You need to really understand the material to do well. Also, don't wait til the last minute on homework and really understand what you're doing because the quiz and test questions are often related to homework material. Finally, go to office hours and S.I. sessions! The SI sessions are a giant reason of why I did well in the class!
