Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Before I took this class, I trusted too many so-called "statistics" and polls in the media. I thought my vote made zero difference. This class offers tremendous insight into the political process and our government's operations. You may lose respect for some practices, but you may gain respect for others. In either case, it will be because your perspective grew.

    Course highlights:

We did a simulation of the lawmaking process during the last couple days of class. Everyone lobbied and tried to make deals with other factions. We all struggled to compromise on our self-interests, and it was insane trying to get even one bill passed, just like gridlock in Congress. I never thought utter chaos could be so educational.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise potential students of the class to keep up on reading. It's more dense than average, but the reward lasts for life. It's tempting to glaze over the basics and get right to declaring an opinion, but when you conquer the fundamentals, you get a clearer picture of what matters.
