    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend Professor Fawaz's Fundamentals of Marketing class to any student. Professor Fawaz is what makes this course remarkable and memorable. The passion he brings from his experience to us students encourages us to want to do well in his class because he really knows what he is teaching. The course is ran much like a business where he prepares us to be ready to answer on the spot questions, think critically, and even feel a little uncomfortable at times. For example, he asked a random student what her greatest fear was and it was public speaking. He then asked her politely to make her way to the front of the class and made her stand up there and talk about something she loved doing and talk about it. In the three minutes she was up there, he taught her that if you are an expert in what you are talking about there nothing can go wrong. Overall, it was an outstanding course that reflected on business in the classroom and in real life.

    Course highlights:

From this course I gained a lot of insight into business marketing. I took this course during my winter session so it was only six weeks long. Over the course of these six weeks, our largest project was at as a group we had to create a marketing campaign for an established company. My group did ours on Spotify. I learned so much about the financial, social, and environmental responsibilities that a company revolves their brand around. Not only did I learn about how a company markets itself to consumer, but how they maintain a balance between these three factors to keep have success. I also learned from Professor Fawaz how to market ourselves as individuals, and how important it is to remain relevant, consistent, and effective in who we are.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course you need to go to class and engage in the classroom discussion. Fawaz loves creating discussion and interacting with the students, so be prepared by reading the chapters to answer any random questions he throws at you. Also, be on time and attentive because he runs his class like it is a real job and expects us to hold ourselves accountable. Another helpful tip is when you answer a question in his class answer it as a bold statement, he wants you to be confident in what you are saying. Lastly, leave a good impression on him as a Professor because if he likes you he will connect you with internships, or potential job opportunities.
