Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was required, but it helped me improve my public speaking skills. Public speaking skills are important for many things in life, especially for careers. After taking this class, I feel more prepared for my life beyond college.

    Course highlights:

I think the highlight of this class was the slam poetry poem we had to recite. It was different and fun. Reciting slam poetry is not something you do on a daily basis, so trying something new like this really helps you appreciate poetry and public speaking even more. A lot more work goes into public speaking than the average person thinks. It takes a lot of practice.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

You cannot miss speech days for this class at all. Read the material and you will do just fine on the test. Make sure to always time yourself when you are practicing for your speech to you don't go under or over time. Practice, practice, practice! You will get better as you practice more and then speeches will get easier. If you're afraid of public speaking, try taking deep breaths. Public speaking can be frightening, but it's important, so getting over the fear can be a great thing!
