Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is amazing! The assignments the professor administers open my eyes to actually identify the methods of sociology in my everyday life. It is so much fun; I never thought I'd enjoy a thought provoking class like Sociology as much as I am enjoying it now.

    Course highlights:

The highlights are being able to take the photos and submit analysis' based on the concepts being learned that week. I am learning to look at the world from a very sociological perspective and it supports the work I do in my own career working with women experiencing homelessness on Skid Row.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are taking this course online, don't put off the assignments; it's easy to fall behind. Ask questions! It's so important to ask what you don't know or even unsure of. Take your time with the photo analysis' they're worth a lot and it's important to apply them to what's a part of your everyday world; it helps your understanding tremendously.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Jones is very resourceful. She's kind and goes at a good, slow pace. Stay up-to-date on the readings and you'll be fine!

    Course highlights:

It was very enlightening when it comes to societal behavior. We learned about society's impact on the average person, and vice versa. We also analyzed cultures we wouldn't normally discuss. It was a real eye-opener and I highly recommend it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always stay up-to-date on the readings, and pay attention during class discussions.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

A really interesting course to venture into the constructs and complexities of society and one's own place in society in the midst of modernity.

    Course highlights:

Watching documentaries helped me understand more tangibly intangible concepts. Writing essays are usually no fun, but writing in this class allowed me to explore my personal identity as shaped by cultural, societal, political, and economic nuances.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Read! It's important to read the text and study the various theories put out by important sociologists.
