    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Johns is a great teacher. However, she expects a lot from her students and sometimes she can cover the material too quickly for some students.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the labs. I learn from hands on experience and the lab helped with that. Being able to see acid neutralization made more sense than it just being explained in lecture.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study and form study groups. Ask questions in class and go to Dr. Johns office if you still have questions. Do the online homework. Doing well on the online homework can be the difference a B and a C or an A and a B.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Very difficult although highly informative and well taught.

    Course highlights:

Professor Johns is one of the most helpful and knowledgeable people I have met. I highly recommend this professor to anyone that is willing to do the work.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study as much as possible and take extensive notes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course at Alamance Community College because it is a class that is required for a plethora of different majors, and taking it at a community college is much more effective. Another reason that I would recommend it is that Dr. Johns is an excellent instructor, very well acquainted with the subject, and is willing to take any questions that a student may have.

    Course highlights:

I learned a good deal about the basics of chemistry, including the structure of molecules, becoming acquainted with the Periodic Table, balancing equations, and many other topics.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to study. Study every day if possible, do not miss class, and pay attention to Dr. Johns during lectures. Many of the students that did not pass this class or that dropped did not pay adequate attention during lecture, or missed a large amount of classes.
