    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is very informative if you are interested in math, computer science, or any type of logical thinking! I found it to be extremely challenging because there is such a wide variety of topics, but the introduction to hundreds of different math topics using proofs and mathematical techniques has helped me in every single math class since.

    Course highlights:

The course starts off with lower level math concepts and teaches them as broad ideas. For example, we learned what a function was. Anyone taking this level of math has heard about and utilized functions, but this went deeper and made you define what it was so that you could later use that definition for a mathematical proof. We went all the way through calculus topics, defining them this way, which has greatly helped me in my calculus series.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

You should only take this course if you have the time to devote to it. There is a large amount of homework but the homework is necessary to understand the topics. We were allowed to use notes and books for all of our quizzes and had one page of notes allowed for our midterm and two for our final, but if you have not fully understood the topics, you will NOT do well!
