    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

While Elaine is knowledgeable about computer science, she doesn't do a great job at teaching the students. You will need to learn on your own, but even then, she has her own way to code and expects you to follow her exact method of coding. Even if your code is right, and follows the guidelines in her syllabus, she will still mark you down unless she personally likes it.

    Course highlights:

I learned java. I liked that I learned on my own, since this teacher wasn't very good at teaching and her lectures are very vague. They didn't really help me at all.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Choose another instructor if you can. She just doesn't know how to teach. Unless you already know how to code or want to follow someone else's coding style, Elaine is not for you.

Great guy, went above and beyond to help students learn.

The WSJ stuff is annoying but interesting if you actually read articles.

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Very hard class but Dr. Cecil is very helpful in assignments.
