Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because learning how to communicate with others in a proper way is a great tool for life and connecting with others.

    Course highlights:

A highlight of this course for me was completing my first speech. I've always been a shy person, so learning how to publicly speak was great for me.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be scared to speak in from of others. Everyone else in the class is just as scared as you and the professor does a great job making you feel comfortable.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend speech to others because it allows you to enhance your public speaking skills as well as building confidence. I am generally a shy person in the classroom setting, but after taking that class, I became more open to asking questions in many of my other classes. Speech gives you the fundamentals needed to speak in front of any audience whether it's as small as a group project, or as large as a stadium. The class won't cure shyness, but it will bring out within you the confidence you have stored inside already, so when you do decide to speak, your best self comes forward.

    Course highlights:

Honestly, the highlights of this course for me were the reflections. After every speech we presented in class we were to write a reflection of how the experience went for us. Through each reflection I noticed how I changed internally from talking about being nervous to talking about not having enough time to talk. Also, the reflections made me feel more connected to my professor and what she was teaching because they showed that she cared about what we were feeling. Not everyone cares about whether or not you stayed up all night thinking about how you were going to mess up your speech, but she wanted to know. I really appreciated that class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be honest with yourself and relax. I would say that is the biggest lesson I learned. I had to learn that speaking in front of people didn't mean my life was over. Or if I stumbled or stuttered that the floor was actually crumbling underneath my feet. It was all in my head. We do better than we actually think we do. So relax.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Professor Rossman is very easy going and helps students become more confident in public speaking.

    Course highlights:

There are only about three speeches you are required to do and homework is easy, it is just article responses. Overall the class is very simple and easy.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not miss a speech it will hurt your grade.
