    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

He taught at a fast pace, and it was difficult to balance his essays with a few other writing assignments by him. He graded semi-harshly on all essays as I barely received a B- on any of his assignments. His definition of "peer review" was useless as the advice given by my classmates did not allow to achieve a high score on any essay. He should have came over and helped us out when we needed him.

    Course highlights:

There really were no highlight of the course. He breezed through the readings, which were somewhat challenging to analyze. When I needed some help understanding some passages, he answered in an unclear manner, making it more difficult for me to comprehend the readings. Overall, I learned to attempt to use critical thinking to make inferences on the passages on my own.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If at all possible, do not take ENG101 with Professor Kochis as he will find ways to knock off points from any writing assignment that he gives to you.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's ENglish 101. The subject matter isn't anything particularly challenging, but Professor Nygard can be a little erratic, so just be sure to pay attention.

    Course highlights:

I learned more about English, how to proofread better. Nothing particularly groundbreaking.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Just be respectful to Professor Nygard. She doesn't tolerate laziness or goofing off. Work hard and be polite and you should be okay.
