Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you are thinking about going into a Human Services related career, this class will either make or break your decision. The course encompasses what different career paths in Human Services are available, what they all entail, and the history and development of laws, acts and assistance in place to provide for those who cannot help themselves. My particular instructor is so very caring, and coming from a career in social work really is reflected in her care towards the learning process.

    Course highlights:

First, I'd like to say that I entered this course knowing I wanted to help people, but was very uncertain in what capacity. By the midterm, I knew, without a doubt, that I wanted to go into counseling. Particularly with at risk youth that a ward of the court. This course taught me the history of child protection laws and the development of today's safeguards against child abuse. That has been highly enriching.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you haven't decided on a career goal, but know you want to help people, take this class. As I mentioned, it could make or break your idea of having such a career.
