Always Do the Reading
Background Knowledge Expected
This class was tough.
I would recommend this course because, besides learning the details of the great diversity of animals and plants with whom we share our planet, Dr. Nolan would push students to the limit. She does this to the extreme point where you get scared of her, but at the end you realized that she is only preparing you for what is coming in university.
As result of taking this course I have learned to organize myself better in order to be a successful student. I changed my study habits. I used to memorize but after this class I think about cause and effect which is the way everything happens in nature. I have also improved my English. Yes, My English. Dr. Nolan is very demanding with her exam essays. She wont let you use meaningless words or superficial explanations. She wants correct analysis of the topics and correct sentence grammar.

Advice for students:
Read, read, read the book. The answers to exam question are there. Also review her power points and, of course, pay attention to Dr. Nolan. Put interest in the labs, they usually go with the other part of the class and understanding the labs will help you with the class. Learn all the organism's phylum and classes. Show her that you care.
