    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it was very insightful and taught you how to apply the course material in practical situations.

    Course highlights:

I learned much about how different cultures interact, how the history of a culture plays into how the country is doing now, and how to question and critically think about those events.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students to always come to class, do the readings, and stay on top of the quizzes and videos. They are enjoyable to watch/read anyway!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

She genuinely wants her students to succeed and her lectures are very informative. The assigned text is very interesting to read and she has flexible office hours in case a student needs clarification on an assignment or test. If you do not read the long textbook you will not pass due to the fact that the bulk of the exams are from the text as well as essay questions. I suggest presenting your final ethnography project with clear headings and summaries. I would highly recommend this course.

    Course highlights:

I learned about other cultures and their beliefs and customs. I learned to always assume complexity when looking at situations and to try to gain a holistic perspective by identifying the factors on a micro and macro scale. I learned about positionally bias and how the emic perspective varies from the epic perspective.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to read long chapters and I would suggest to never miss class because class discussions and videos are always evident on the exams.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It opens up your perspective of the world.

    Course highlights:

You learn that nothing is really black and white in the world we live in. Her lectures get you thinking critically and sometimes uncomfortable but its worth the knowledge you gain.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen to lectures and study the notes packet.
