    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because i learned something new that is not an every day trend. It had to do with history and i learned to appreciate the many aspects that made up jazz.

    Course highlights:

I learned many famous musicians that brought jazz to life and the many stages of how it developed and where it took place, the evolution. I also earned about the instruments played in jazz and was able to identify them even after when listening to other types of music.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

READ! I had to make sure to make to make flash cards and review them every day during my free time. When it came to the tunes assigned i made a playlist and i had a study partner play the songs in a random order, i would write down the tune, composer and more details required until i had the correct answer.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The class is fun and interesting if you really take the time to listen and immerse yourself in the subject. overall, there weren't as many hands on activities to do, it was more like a lecture class, but it was still worth the time. If you like Jazz and want to know more about its history, then this is the class for you.

    Course highlights:

I gained more knowledge on black history and on how we made name for ourselves and transformed music into a whole other level.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Although it's an easy going class, there's a lot of note-taking and preparation for it. In class, we discussed, and watched videos, but outside of class, we had mini assignments to do and had to memorize a lot of vocabulary.
