Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Nelson allowed students to be free. He allowed our creativity to take over and our mind to wonder. He once said, " the words should come off the page and that the reader should feel how the writer felt emotionally as he wrote the story." I'll never forget that. Every time I wrote I wanted the reader to feel my pain and Mr. Nelson helped me do that.

    Course highlights:

I had to write a story about someone I knew in my life. It could have been family, friend, or co-worker but the catch was you had to interview them. I learned that one of my co-workers were considered a national terrorist who had to flee his country because of the government. His story was touching and interesting. My co-worker was a hard worker. A very humble individual with a kind heart. He explained that because he did not want to pay the government more money that they attacked his family and started to take money from all the business owners. They sent the army in to kill those who didn't obey government rules. This was a cool experience.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

From my experience, it was a nice introduction into the world of creative writing from a college standpoint. The initial stage of creative writing courses is mostly reading though, so bear with it.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the technical terms for different things I already knew how to do and I got to experience different genres and styles I'd never pick up on my own.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Just really be prepared to open your mind and read what others have put out before you. It's enriching.
