Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was a great overview of the different situations you might encounter in any walk of life. It gives the student an insight into the more sensitive areas of society that are the hot topics across the news channel today. For example, discrimination found with a person's sexuality, aging, homelessness, and the list goes on...

    Course highlights:

I learned that it is important to be clear and concise with your words. For example, when using a term such as "gay", one generation, group of folks may not deem it as derogatory while another may find it extremely offensive given the context in which the word is used. There is a fine line, always be aware and sensitive to your audience.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to read all of the articles, think of them as the tree, because the class projects are the branches that can only be supported by the tree.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It took longer than the length of the course to sink in, but I learned so much from this class. It affects me to this day - it was part of my formation as an activist for racial justice. I actually took it earlier - maybe in 2003 or so - but the form doesn't go back that far!

    Course highlights:

I learned about prejudice, social stratification, and privilege in America today. I learned a whole new way of looking at the world.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

It's not a difficult course to pass. My advice is to drop all your assumptions and open your mind.
