    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course if you're studying in becoming a civil engineer. Although it's fast paced it is worth it. This course is a major key in learning how to design something from a building to a bridge.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of structures and how they're supposed to be analyzed. Different other aspects of structural analysis are learned such as the effects of loads on physical structures and their components. Structures subject to this type of analysis include all that must withstand loads, such as buildings, bridges etc.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Tips for taking this course is to be extremely focused. When the professor assigns a hw don't wait until the day before to start it. The Homeworks are extremely time consuming. This courses forces you to balance your time because the material is challenging. Also read the textbook because you have to understand concept before you start a problem. good luck!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it in order to understand how are the forces and moments distributed in the beams and columns of structures, which is key for Civil Engineers to design structures of new buildings.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to calculate several forces and moments in a structure. I feel that the best part of this course was how the professor explained how to draw deflections in beams and trusses.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

To do their homeworks and ask as many questions as possible.
