Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mr. John Nash, is an excellent teacher. He explains every assignment thoroughly and he will help you with whatever you need help with. He also gave a lot of extra credit opportunities as well. He's an excellent teacher.

    Course highlights:

I believe the highlights of this class was actually the speeches. Performing these speeches in front of our class mates, actually, allowed me to tap into some skills that's I didn't know I had. Also, it was a great way to learn about other interesting topics.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention during the lectures, complete the online quizzes that are due each Sunday. They are really too easy to fail, considering the fact that the book gives you the answers for the most part. Take the speeches very serious. Don't slack off on that part of the class and you'll do fine.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is necessary for you to improve your communication skills. We communicate all day, and when at work we must be able to convey ourselves clearly. If you are able to convey yourself well, you will appeal to others, and most importantly your boss. Good communication skills could get you faster raises, promotions and leadership rolls.

    Course highlights:

The number one thing I learned is that when you are in front of a crowd giving a speech, your nervousness does not show. My teacher was great, she pinpointed my strengths and weaknesses when giving a speech. She helped me to work on my weaknesses, and overall made me more confortable speaking publicly as I am very shy.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely put time into preparing your speech. You will reconstruct your speech a few times, and you will need to practice your speech. Also 5 to 7 minutes is the typical time frame of your speech, and it goes fast. Therefore, you must carefully choose which facts you feel are most important, because you can only say so much in seven minutes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course because it is very fundamental in our every day communicating with other people. It comes in handy for anybody who has stage fright or gets anxious before presentations, speeches, a game, etc. It is very helpful in getting rid of these negative emotions you get before a big event, or even a small talk with a coach, this course teaches it all when it comes to public speaking, being a good listener, and also just communicating with other people.

    Course highlights:

Learned how to deal with my anxiety nervousness right before a speech. This was my biggest barrier, my anxiety wouldn't let me cooperate and i would also get very nervous. The reason why it was very hard for me to give a speech before was because i had never spoke in front of a big crowd. I had stage fright but once i took this course that was no longer a problem because all it took was practice for me to get over this fear. Just like anything you want to be good at, you have to try it hands on to get the most out of it and with this course i learned how to deal with my anxiety and my speeches started off bad, but just like anything you try for the first time it's not always going to come out your best until you keep practicing it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice makes perfect and you better rehearse to be successful because once you get up there to give that speech it looks way better when you know the material. It also makes you feel more confident because you know the material you are presenting on and you are not always looking down on your paper mumbling. Rehearsing improves your speech, and the more you rehearse the better your speech flows without interruption.
