Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

She was a great teacher, really gave you lots of information and made you excited about and to look at the art! I feel like she gave great descriptions on the art and artists to help the students understand. The class was fun and interesting but she still expected college level work to push you.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about the Baroque periods. I felt like I learned enough to make me more excited about art. I learned a lot about myself and what type of art I am interested. I learned why artists do what they do and how it effects and is related to the world around them.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you take notes in class, she goes over very important information for the test. The tests are in essay format so you need to know the information. Go to every class because you cover a lot of material that you need to know and it is more descriptive and applies it more than the book.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Bule is very passionate about art. He knows SO much. It is fascinating to learn about the world's history through art, and the stories behind each painting and it's artist.

    Course highlights:

I loved the stories and backgrounds of the artists we were learning about. I learned a lot about past social status', and how that played into what an artist was commissioned to paint/sculpt/build. I also learned how the subject matter of paintings changed throughout time and what events led to the changes.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely attend each class, the whole class. Write everything down that you can. Work with other students to share and compare notes, and to study for each exam. The more information you have about each artist, painting, and social movement, the better you do on the tests. He likes his students to be thorough, to show they know their stuff.
