Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

We all watch a lot of TV shows that talk about abnormal psychology, but this class helps you to actually understand other what they really mean and especially about the people around you. There are people all around us who have conditions we consider "abnormal" but we often don't realize it or know how to respond. This class will help us to communicate better with others. It is also fascinating to know how people really think.

    Course highlights:

I have gained a greater respect for those in my family who have psychological conditions that cause them to think differently than I do. I've also gained more respect for therapists and those who study these things. I have learned there are so many different mindsets I had no idea that there were so many distinctions between disorders! I also had no idea that psychologists had different ways of approaching them as well. Every person is so unique and so worth getting to know!

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Read some every day. It would really help me to take some time to study for each course every day. Also using mnemonic devices to remember titles for things, or names for disorders helps a lot.

    Course Overview:

Aubree was a great teacher. She is patient and kind, respectful of students and their comments. This will always be one of my favorite classes!

    Course highlights:

The highlights for me was learning about personality disorders. I've been very interested and captivated by personality disorders for a long, specifically Borderline Personality Disorder. I also really enjoyed learning about Schizophrenia and how it affects/manifests in different people. I watched a documentary on January Schofield and was mesmerized by it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class and be involved in class discussions and take notes!
