    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor is horrific. He rambles on about things that have nothing to do with what is on the tests. While I don't have an issue with working hard for my grade, the professor seemed to be against the students. I asked specific questions and had genuine concerns, but he wold not address them respectfully for the duration of the semester.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course was the textbook. It was pretty easy to follow, with great information. Kirsi would test mostly on the picture descriptions and tables.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Don't get discouraged. He curves pretty aggressively at the end of the course. The average is about 68% throughout the course. If you are high seventies by the end of the course you should be able to pull an A.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It teaches you aspects about living microorganisms that are important to know, not only in health care, but in your everyday life. You find out there are things living on you and on everything around you and it is important to know which are good and bad. Also this course teaches you the various methods to prevent and control the bad viruses and bacteria that harm our bodies.

    Course highlights:

I learned that it's very important to take care of self hygiene so we do not become susceptible to the harmful microorganisms. Also that we share many relationships with those organisms.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Prepare for a heavy work load, but also be open minded about it because you learn a lot of very interesting and important information.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was very difficult. Not just the material, but the professor was difficult to understand and his lectures were often not coherent. All the advice I got was to ignore the lectures and read the textbook during class and then fail the tests anyway. This was pretty accurate. I felt like I learned a ton, but I put a lot of work into it and I still didn't do well on tests.

    Course highlights:

The lab section of this course was really interesting and not too difficult. I learned a lot of information and found some of it interesting.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook for sure, and look for online study helps. Show up to class because if you are consistently there, the professor will give you a few extra points at the end of the semester. Don't get behind and study before class because there are quizzes.
