    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The is the very first class they have you take if you are going to go into elementary education. The entire class is focused on one question "do I want to be a teacher?" I was required to volunteer in a classroom for twenty hours to see up front what it is like being a teacher. At the end of the semester we all had to answer the question of if we want to be a teacher or not. It was really interesting to see those who did and didn't want to be a teacher. It was really awesome that they had you already finding out if being a teacher was the route to go that early in your higher education. If you are considering to be a teacher this class is perfect for you to find out if it is the right path for you!

    Course highlights:

The biggest highlight was going and volunteering and observing in the classroom. I spent ten hours in a second grade classroom and ten hours in a sixth grade classroom. I learned that I really do want to become a teacher.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you take it during a semester that you have a little extra time to do the volunteer hours. Even though they cancel class so you have time it's still not enough time.
